Thanks,

Wow, I just checked it out and it's beautiful. I was going to try increasing
the max_trace_level, but it's already at 60!

Any other parameters I can increase for more accuracy/beauty at the expense
of render time?

OK, I just raised the max_trace_level on that scene to 100 and am rendering
it at 2048x1536 (no AA), and it's already amazing. This scene is a definite
candidate for playing with 48-bit color in Photoshop...

I'll post any good images I come up with..

I would say let yourself loose and fiddle with the paramaters...

I really wish I could get my patch out for you but it's riddled with odd
bugs right now not to mention the ever-persistent project-killer (aka. real
life).

That's excellent Marc, that's the effect that I was looking for.
I'll check out your post in p-t.s.f.

        Thanks! :)

Which patch is that?

I've been working on my own patch for POV-Ray. It currently has 2 features:
Dispersion jitter which jitters the chosen "frequencies" of dispersion
samples (similar to area lights). See post
http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/30673/?ttop=31015&toff=100
and http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/30736/?ttop=31015&toff=50
for examples. Another one's coming.

No_radiosity keyword similar to no_shadow or no_reflection only it affects
radiosity samples. See post
http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/30682/?ttop=31015&toff=100

If I can find the time, I intend to complete the area_light code to
(optionally) include diffuse, specular, and phong components (still in the
conceptual stage). Some of my more ambitious plans which likely won't
develop are to add true diffuse photon casting, multiple scattering (via
photons) in scattering media, and refractive media.
