The schizophrenic answer is that the "composition" was better in the other
one. What was changed?

Brrrr! It looks like a cold morning!

I like the feel of open space and the sky (Terragen does nice skies, doesn't
it). But the colors (particularly the sky) make me think very cold, so I
would expect mist rising on the water.

RG - it's so much easier to critique someone else than to do it yourself

Looks like the viewpoint is higher in the second image.
I also think the lower viewpoint looks better.

in terms of both camera and object positions absolutely nothing has been
changed. The only alterations I made to the second post is improved textures
and the new sky.

Well, I started to model a steam engine and then thought that *everyone*
would be entering something similar. so i thought about stone circles. These
circles and the methods used to construct them must have been one of the
most advanced technologies in their time.

Well spotted, its a brown trout if you're interested.

Wll do, at the moment though, larger resolutions show the lack of detail in
the background... :(

Thanks!

Hmmm... IMHO, this represents a definite improvement! Don't know if it's
just the balance of the image or what... but I prefer this new one. Only
thing I can add is what others have already said - either the sky is too
dark or the water is too bright, it looks kinda strange. (Although, I have
actually seen real scenes where the sky is almost jet-black, but the ground
around me is brightly lit. Always feels very apocolyptic - if that's
actually a word!)

Definitely a cool concept - keep at it!
Andrew.
