New version of the old triskell.

Just something that does render very fast
compared to the boring slow vermeer
radiosity scenes.

That's great. It would benefit greatly if you tried to make the wood bump
texture procedural. I'm assuming it's an image map but please correct me if
it's not

No, there are no image maps used. The wood is an isosurface partially "varnished"
by using variable reflection.
But meanwhile I have redone it as a hi-res heightfield (memory is no problem for
this scene) and it renders much faster without any visible change.

No. Are you?
I have lived for about one year in Paimpont, a small village in Brittany
located in the middle of the forest Brociliande. I have even joined
a local folk band and if I remember right, one of the songs was about
the fact that the most beautiful girls of Brittany do live in Paimpont:

ce sont la filles de forges, des forges de Paimpont digue ding don daine
elles s'en vont a confesse au cure du canton
J'avoins courru les bals et les jolis garcons...

...ooch, I'm getting sentimental, guess I'll have to drink some glasses
of Calvados right now...

Yes I am, I'm living in Lorient, a harbour on the south coast of Brittany.
