It only matters if you have reflecting or refracting objects in the 
scene...you can't see the shadows otherwise, they are hidden by the 
object casting them. It might render faster with shadowless though.

If the light is at the camera, you will see no shadow projected by that
light - directly that is. So adding shadowless should not change the shadows
of your image but you may gain time.

Moreover, the shadowless light will give o highlights (phong or diffuse),
wich is very good for a fill light.
