Hi all

just a post of my current project - ideas/comments on expanding the scene
would be appreciated.
I thought maybe another small sea creature (shrimp or crab etc) in the top
right would help balance the image out a little.
- are the textures, lighting ok?

thanks
jim

Very,very nice picture. I think any additions to the scene should be in the
water, but not on the rock. Fish are a possibility. Another would be a rusty
structure which has fallen into the water or is supporting something above
it.

I think the texture is not really convincing. It looks more like stone or
clay, not like a living creature.

I don't know- I have seen a lot of marine creatures, and maybe just a tweak
of the surface characteristics would do it. It looks like a great surface-
bumpy and irregular enough; the size and scale both look good. I am not sure
what I would change to make it better. Maybe a slightly more "granular" look?
But not much.

Cheers!

I like the fish in the forground idea, especially if you added a focul blur
focused on the star fish.

Hi Jimbojim!

This reminds me of a background-picture I once had. But now, I'm missing the
caustics you have there... :-)
As others said, I think a bit of focalblur would do your scene very good.
Maybe you can add a shell. (you know, those of the startup-picture of good
ol' Pov 3.1)

It looks very well !
I suppose this is under the water ... but it's not blue at all?

maybe a rusty tin can?

I thought about it today and wondered whether some floaty bits of stuff in
the sea would help - I've never really used (scattering) media, so would
this be a good way to produce the effect or would actual objects be better
to achieve this?

the texture is a bit shameful really:
texture {
    pigment {Tan}
    normal {crackle 2 turbulence 0.1 ramp_wave}
    scale 0.01
}

and at this stage is only intended as a building block to achieve erm...
'greater things'

thanks
