Yes they are isosurfaces. My math skills are poor at best. I felt luckly
to get them to look like that! :)
Here is some of the code I used:

 isosurface {
     function { f_rounded_box(x,y,z,0,0.70,0.85,0.70) - f_noise3d(x*5.2,
y*4.9, z*4.7)* 0.05 }
     contained_by { box { -1 , 1} }
     max_gradient 25
     pigment {RockColor3 translate <0,-1.8,0>}
     scale RockScale
 }

If you could explain how that could be added here I will certainly try that.

Thanks!

Sorry I left out the scale I used for the rocks.

#declare RockScale = <0.360,0.1,0.360>;

  Excellent! I've been following this. I think you could be right. A 'drape' hanging
behind the sword would look good IMHO. Either
red and yellow or red and black with some kind of FE.Asian text? I have to say that
your sword looks a beast in lambs clothing.
Those two straight bits with the curve on the ends, (near the hilt), are quite
in-humane are they not? Cruelly interesting. Are they
for real? I haven't seen that before myself...

      Back to the image... A bevel line would look good also.... straight down the
middle of the blade...

      Very nice image.

Perhaps add some focal blur?

Looks very good so far!

Thank you! Once I figure out a cloth method (or someone else posts a clith
include for Povray 3.5) I'll add something in there.

Well I actually own the sword and dagger. I haev tried to model them as
close as I can to the real thing. The "horns" on the hilt
could be a bit dangerous. The sword is very heavy. I didn't add a "blood
channel" down the blade since the real one doesn't have it.

Thank you!

I'm not sure where I would blur the image though. Maybe near the bottom of
the wall?

     Ah! That's what it's called! A ' Blood Channel' ? Ie, a groove for the blood to
run down?? - Obviously.

        Eek!!  ;)

    Heheh.. I was thinking more along the lines of the actual manufacture of the
sword. Don't they usually have 'bevelled' angles to
the blade? (Possibly with a groove too?)
    The whole cross section being a thin/narrow diamond shape? I'm very possibly
wrong, so forgive me for *digging* too deep with
this...  <..sheesh....>  ;)

Actually, the main purpose was to release suction on the blade and make
it easier to remove from your opponents body IIRC...

oops...common misconception...

True purpose of the fullered groove in a blade is to reduce weight and add
strength. (If you don't have the strength to give the blade a bit of a
twist when pulling it out, you didn't have the strength to put it in there
either.)

I would suggest the focal point on the name-plaque (or what ever it is
called), perhaps a little bit up and to the left. Start with some arbitrary
aperture. I don't know what will look better: some strong blurring, or just
a tiny bit.
