Like you, also prefer images that may be little bit
too sharp and saturated to be totally realistic but appeal
to the viewer, so I like this a lot.

Two questions:
- what will be the dimensions of the book. It is not
a standard paperback, but you said the space for the title
(and author ?) are in the image. What kind of book will it
be?
- I do not recognize the texture on the earth figure, nor
on the snake. On the snake it even looks like fishes as
texture but that would not fit the earth theme (i think).

It's a book on magic published in Brazil. The dimensions, 15cmx21cm, are unusual.
The title fits at the top.

I must admit, if I had more time I would spend a lot more effort on the earth figure(
I was trying for a cracked earth texture) and
the snake. There is some typical Poser stretching of the snake image map and looking
at it again too much specular.

It's a really great image! I find absolutely nothing wrong with the water.
But as other have said the Earth figure could be improved.

Obviously a lot of work was put into the composition. :)
