We have the same word, I don't think it has the same meaning. It is most
often used to modify a word describing streetwalkers. It refers to a
disgusting uncleanlyness.

Peter Tosh sings about "Easy Skanking" - I've always assumed it was a dope ref.

Since I don't know who Tosh is and I am not up on drug slang, I cannot
verify this.

'Skanky' in British Teenager speak means to be unclean - so I think it has
the pretty much same meaning.
"A 'Pike' would live in a 'Skanky' house"

A 2 second search on Google brought this up under the search "meaning of the
word skank":
http://www.matts-web.com/slang/s.htm
I've now got that page bookmarker, the home page that is.

There is a movie called Wraith staring Charlie Sheen where a couple of the
bad guys were "skank" users. I think it referred to abusing odd substances
to get high. Examples included drinking kerosene and brake fluid.
And dictionary.com offers this wonderful revelation -
skank (skngk)
n.
1. A rhythmic dance performed to reggae or ska music, characterized by
bending forward, raising the knees, and extending the hands.
2. Disgusting or vulgar matter; filth.
3. One who is digustingly foul or filthy and often considered sexually
promiscuous. Used especially of a woman or girl.

I would call myself pretty British and I've never heard the word skank to be
used for anything other than to be disgusting.

Very nice image. You can get Moray to render directly to POV 3.5 by remarking
the:
Histogram_Type=X ; NONE
This is in the MORAY.INI file. Hope this helps with one of your steps. Cheers.
