For a modeling tool that is fantastic for organic
shapes such as this (and indeed used for this one)
check out: http://www.hash.com  You'll find that a fish
shape like this is something you can do in about ten
minutes- the TEXTURING OTOH is where the real work
lies...

It took longer than 10 minutes to model.  It took some time to work in the
details around the mouth and gills.  It's like that with AM, you can get the
general look down real fast but making it look real from all angles takes
another hour or two at least.

I just meant that having had my share of POLYRAY and
POVray experience and now switching to AM for the bulk
of my work (play) I wouldn't want to approach modeling
that trout casually in POV the same way I would in AM-
especially if I intended to animate it. <sweat breaking
out with just the thought>
