Following on from the earlier one, I've added some textures, a starry sky, and a
low camera angle, and suddenly things look a lot better.
Comments and questions are welcome :)
BTW, can anyone explain glows to me? They don't seem to be in the megapov docs,
and I really want to tweak the sun.

Where do I see a realestate agent about buying a few acres to build my

The water texture fails to convince, unless it is supposed to be frozen, but you
have a damned interesting idea going with this.

Wasn't there a cartoon character, maybe in a children's book series or animation
that vertured to a little planet or travelled around on it or something. It had a
real mass culture presence for a time ... maybe ten years ago?

I think it was claymation.

The terrain is very good now, the water looks a bit like plastic, maybe
some transparency would be good.
But where is the atmosphere?

Megapov docu: '9.21. Glow effects'
There are some tables illustrating the different parameters on my website,
but i'm not sure if they help much.

Both have now been added and look pretty good. I'm still playing with the
settings and will post when I have something worth showing.

Doh! I had an old version of the docs! I've got the new ones now. Thanks.

Could you be thinking of <The Little Prince> by Antoine de
Saint-Exupery?
(I first read it about 1971.)
The hero comes from asteroid B-612. His chores include keeping the
volcanoes clean and weeding out any baobabs. Before coming to Earth he
visits various other asteroids, including one whose sole inhabitant has
the job of lighting a lamp each morning and putting it out each evening
-- and that asteroid rotates in one minute.
Ring any bells?
