I shall not use radiosity: I didn't manage to solve the truble about the
sphere_sweeps (probably a bug, but nobody answered me).
I'm looking for new handwrinting fonts just now, so the wrinting on the desk
should be fine next time.
About the ambient finish enigma: I discovered that when I added the dirt
layer to a texture, moving the finish block (with ambient 0) to the upper
layer, the lower layers looked like they had the default ambient 0.1 . IMHO
it makes no sense the finish block in lower layers... Anyway, I set ambient
0 by default to avoid this problem.

Comments are welcome.

Jonathan.

Uhhh ... noo .... not a simple sinus-wave ...
This Spider definitly has a more complex wave-form ... but so far ... very good
work ...

What about something "undefined" in the water glass ? ... it looks to clean for
this environment ...

No comments: just the message that to me it looks perfect. It has the
right amount of chaos and small problems (table scorching), etc. to my
view. Only question I have is where the scope signal is coming from -
the spider? And yes, the writing on the table could be a little less
regular :)) For the rest: very fine work!

I think that this picture is great but ...

I usually don't write notes on my desk but it makes the image look good.
I usually have formuals and stuff on some papper that has a lot of other
stuff on it.
Some dents or scratch marks on the desk would make it look more used ( looks
too "fresh" to me ).

Hi..

Great pic : looks like my own desktop, right in front of me... less the spider of
course...

but i just find :
- the book is too new..
- the keys above miss some relief
- the glass is too... clean.. :)
- why not adding some rings on the 5 BNC cables, saying R,G,B, V and H ?.. and/or
ring colours ?
- i can't find the button on the lamp..
- the 3 electrical cable rings (?) are too neat : rarely in circle.. maybe
elliptical..
- .. and yes, that sinewave is... well... too easy.. :)

.. then, you just have to add one full inch of dust, and it's _my_ desk.. ;))

.. imho of course..

I'm quite sure if you'd post a small sample showing this behavior someone
will investigate in that.

It looks good with the darker desk, but don't add too many more objects,
IMO the blue screwdriver should be omitted.

Very nice. I like getting lost in the image.

I have used a trick of creating the writing as a height field. Simply
create the height field by making a painting via the mouse (or scanning
writing you have made) to a TGA image. Use a difference (usually a box) to
remove the bottom flat section of the height field and you have a 3D text
object that looks as sloppy as you like. It seems to render faster than
text does.

I posted the buggy radiosity image last week. Have a look to the "take 6"
thread.

I of course meant a scene file showing the bug, as simple as possible of
course (no need to use the whole IRTC scene).
