Time to move on, been at this since February :-(
Resized from 1024*384 which hasn't been kind. Full sized 126K jpeg at
http://www.peake42.freeserve.co.uk/pix1/moustrap.jpg

I'm happy with the fur now. I moved one area light nearer to the
camera for this one, but should have left it alone! The visor's shadow
makes it difficult to see it's shape. The cyan between the eyes is the
hidden hinge transmitted thru the visor's edge.

Keep an eye on p.u.p for an iso problem I can't figure out.

Wow, that is great. Very cute and funny. Excellent modelling. Was that all
done with text input?

Thank you Sir. The idea came from a newspaper cartoon.

Yes, apart from 2 image_maps via PSPro for the helmet logo and
mousetrap text.

(insert twilight zone music here)

    I know your frustration! I spent (too many) months first creating a
scene like that, then trying to make an animation with it. I never
actually finished either, but I thought you might be interested to see my
attempt. I went for a more cartoonish look when I couldn't figure out a
good way to make a realistic mouse. This one's just a mesh from 3d cafe
(I think) that I never put a texture or a helmet on. I had both
finished, but never did a final render. I changed the files enough for
the animation that there's no way I can put together a better render. :-(

    I realize that you're done so I'll resist the temptation to
critique. I'll just say that (1) I love that fur! and (2) What did you
use to make the body?

Haha, I like it! Cute and funny :-)

The helmet was a nice touch (cool texture)!

Hey! Cutesy! Looks like the idea has been around a while.

Thanks. 47k hairs (excluding the head), each 2 triangles, and trace
working hard.

All blobs 'cept the black nose.

Thanks :)

  texture{ //pigment{ Orange-ish }
           pigment{ image_map{ png "M3b.png" map_type 1 interpolate
4 } }
           finish{ phong 0.6 phong_size 160 ambient 0.1 }
           rotate y*180 rotate z*20
  }

Was debating if Mickey Mouse ears on the helmet would be over-the-top.
