A beautiful image, and well worth the wait. I'll be along
to look at the code some time soon, thanks for sharing.

Wow! I feel like I am in Holland. The focal blur is good. I have seen
movies and TV shows that have compositions of different footage. These
really need focal blur to look more real. The tulips growing outside
here will be blooming in a lot less time than it took to render that
picture...

Hi folks,

Well it's been over 7 years since I last played with POV-Ray and made my
tulips image (http://xlcus.com/povray/tulips/tulips-0600x0800.jpg), but
I've had a renewed interest just recently and would like to present the
first image I've made since I've been back... (See attachment)

The image is pure SDL. No scene placement tools, models or textures
were used. Everything is procedurally generated and positioned using SDL.

The render time was pretty harsh. The combination of radiosity and
focal blur really slowed things down and it took about 4.5 days to
render on my Athlon 5600+ with POV-Ray 3.6

Anyway, hope you like it.

Cheers,

Just before I opened the image, as I read the title, I had this Vija
Celmins premonition, and I paused and said to myself,..."I wonder"

Well I think you have upstaged Vija

Not only is the image fantastic, it looks like you had great fun doing it!

You know you've been raytracing too long when you look at a matrix transform and
know instantly what it does.

You "hope"?! That's the understatement of the year!

Amazing image. Seems like 7 years away did you good. :)
