Okay, I got the scaling all wrong. Perhaps this will give you something to
start with:
function{
FG
+FB
+FD
-FGR
-noise3d(x*6,y,z*6)*5
+5
}
I used a water-plane at y*4. It's not perfect yet, but with a bit of
tweaking might lead you somewhere.
Hope it's of a little help,
Marc-Hendrik

Yes, one of the jobs on the list this is just a preliminary sketch

Thanks

Here's a picture that I just thought I'd mention, because it has some
similarities:

(This one's from Travis Smith's site - he makes artwork for album covers.
The home page is http://www.the.nl/seempieces/)

Hey, that looks great, I think it's got a lot of potential. I think you should
make the furrows looks depper, maybe by enlarging the furrows; I think if you
added some regular vegetation it might help, I'm not sure tho.
Great start!

I would expect the tree to be more sillhoutted probably.
The hue and intensity are good I think.

I've seen a very similar image to this one before. Here:
http://www.mhazelgrove.fsnet.co.uk/memories.htm
And I like it very much !
Please keep us updated as the work is progressing.

I'm not sure if I understand what you need here.
Please explain more if it's still problematic.
Btw: The link to the AM-image at this page seems to be broken:

The Preacher image makes me laugh. Well done.

Looking very good. Always great to see another masterpiece in the
making.
