The clouds are "inspired" by Mick Hazelgrove's superb winning entry from
last round. He kindly provided the source code, and so I looked at how he'd
done the clouds. I wrote mine from scratch using a similar technique.

I'll release the code for the whole scene when I submit the image to the
competition :)

Too late! Trees added last night.
To be honest I quite like the sharp change to the mountains. I'll play with
hills later on if I get time.

That's a good point. I was about to do the grass, but I think I'll do some
trees first to get a sense of scale on the ground.

Cheers.

:D
FFVII was an awesome game, but towards the end it kinda dragged on
without much development. powerful plot though, involving game,
atmospheric
i might say FFIX looks better... of what i've seen so far, the graphics
and sound are up a notch, more artistic... but sheer RPG factor will be
hard to match in FFVII

So far I'd rank FFVII as the best of the three I've played, though I'm now
on disk 2 of FFIX and I'm really starting to like it! Of course, it's hard
to assess these games fairly until you reach the end, so that should take a
couple more months :)

Have you reached Lindblum yet? It's one of the most awe inspiring sights
I've ever seen! Very cool.

BTW, the tops of towers in my image were inspired by Vivi's hat :)

But they're not bent. <grin>

Mind you, I am of the opinion that in certain ways, FFIX is a huge step
backwards from FFVII.

Followups to povray.off-topic.

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

I'm at the evil forest. Only logged about two hours of play so far.

PS: I am typing with only my left hand to try and develop fine motor skills
(being strongly right handed) :o
