I like this. I used to love playing with these "doodles" but I'm a big
boy now ;-) Could never figure out a use for them except as
background on a webpage. Non-pov punters seemed to like simple
metallic textures, brilliance not too high, and primary colours rgb or
cmy.

Well it's a little strange to me that the only reply to my post came
after I canceled it. After several days without a reply I gave up, and
used simple metallic textures.
Anyway I have had a picture of the Seattle museum of flight
http://www.museumofflight.org on my wall probably since its opening in
1987. Well the museum roof has a giant glass covered spaceframe roof
strong with many airplanes hanging from it by cables, including a DC-3
witch is a very big aircraft. I thought that the macro I was working on
could be used to make glorious buildings, but I think the post I made
didn't portray grandeur. So here is a better example. Also you guessed
right that it was for a web page, mine needs serious help, I also included
an almost complete version of the image the spaceframe is going into.

Dan -
This is intense. I'm just starting and haven't yet migrated to macros. Looks
like I have serious work to do.

If you have any programing experience the transition is probably easier. I
started with POV-Ray in November, and most of my programing experience is with
my HP 48GX calculator. I got bored in class some times.

Well, I grab the headers, then what looks like may be interesting
posts, but then take a coupla days to read the stuff. Usualy means my
responses get posted after the thread is dead-and-buried :( This
3-pass setup has its problems :-/

Hey! Now that looks better than any doodle. Can't believe you've only
been using pov a few months.
