I've been playing around with macros, glows, random numbers, spheresweeps
and superquadric E's recently, and in my toying managed to come up with
something remotely interesting, well..a few. I'll see how well this one is
liked before posting anything much else.
There aren't any superQ's in this image. Negative values really make strange
superQ's..
This image didn't take but 18min at 1027x768 aa0.3.

Is the white space there to emphasize the dark scene? If so, it did :-)
Are the gray cylinders actually done with the sphere_sweep? No curvatures?
hmm

That's nice. Looks like some wreckage deep under water

Now this is strange. This is really strange. I don't know what it is, but I'd
expect it to be a still from some science fiction movie.
I do like

personally i had to brighten the image up to see all the details. But it makes
me think of an alien machine... neat image though... like the colors..

I really like it; it's a very interesting and detailed design and the
colours work well together. If you're thinking of doing a 1280x1024 render
(of just the centre bit), send it my way! :)

Hello,
Yes, the whole shape was done through sphere sweeps, save the clear-ish
spheres and glows.
I use Macros and While loops extensively, all following the same model of:
seeds
rand macro()
end
objectmacro()
randmacro calls
loops w/objects
end
end
objectmacro call loop
end

I'm using a lowly HP 9780 or somesuch; it has 128mb, 60gb, 900mhz athlon,
32meg nvidia tnt2 pro. I borrow 256mb more ram from my mac typically.
