Yes, the whole shape was done through sphere sweeps, save the clear-ish
spheres and glows.

I use Macros and While loops extensively, all following the same model of:

seeds
rand macro()
end

objectmacro()
randmacro calls
loops w/objects
end
end

objectmacro call loop
end
