I believe it was Mark's way of making a comment about the discussion in
the 'guidelines' thread, in p.b.animations.

Yes. I posted essentially the same image here a year ago as a jpeg.

I would never insist such a thing...

The original image was 580 KB -- guess why I compressed it?

That's "Mark Wagner", and it doesn't really matter to me how many people
view it, since I posted a very similar version a year ago. This was mostly
a commentary on the "Guidelines" thread in povray.binaries.images, and on
Warp's decision to bzip2 the image he posted here.

Completely honest answer:
I had a little fight with Ken about whether posting in a format not supported
by every platform is OK or not. My opinion was that it would be polite to
post your files in a format supported by most platforms.
I packed the image with bzip2 (which doesn't seem to be very popular in
the Windows platform since it seems that WinZip nor other popular packer
programs support it, although bzip2 is quite popular in Unix systems) to
make it harder for Windows-users to open it. My intention was to show that
using a format not directly supported by most platforms only causes trouble
to people.
I agree that it may have been a bit childish "attack". I'm sorry.

You completely failed to make your point or to understand mine. You
posted in a format that is only used by 3-5% of the worlds computer
users. My point was that you cater to the greatest common denominator
and you have clearly not demonstrated this by your actions.
