The snowman I made for use on Christmas cards (for a school project this
time last year) has made a comeback within my Christmas scene. The house
has gone under a lot of changes since its original post (scrapped individual
bricks) and now theres a heightfield for the snow along with Christmas
Lights and an 'indoors'.

All comments and suggestions welcome

The shadows/light from the windows seems too pronounces and sharp.
The house needs some dirtying up to appear lived-in, right now it looks like toy
house.
Otherwise very impressive (and I dare say idyllic).

This is looking good. But the snow on the roof is too flat/uniform,
that tree needs lights in it, and the shadows on the snow in front
of the house are very busy, maybe turn off some of the lights in
the house, or add area lights outside (which will make it very
sslllloooooowwwwww), the snowman looks almost transparent, move
him closer to the camera and have the moon shine on him.

How about adding some aurora borealis to the night sky? Or some stars?
Or both?

Have you thought of using HF's for the snow on the roof surfaces?

It looks much better with the first floor windows added though, and the
camera position has made it look a bit more like a house and less like a
toy or model.

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

It looks good, but it's to regular. Add more variance to the red bricks, make
the interior lighting area_lights, and give the snow a normal.

My suggestions:
----------------
More Christmas lights!

The brick wall around the yard looks un-naturally lit, it may have too high
of an ambient value.

Make smoke coming out of the chimney.

Put some image_map pictures on the inside walls - easy to do and it will
make the house look less deserted.

There is an unusually high step to get into the front door - maybe add a
porch or another step.

Overall, this is a great scene that just needs some finishing touches -
great job!

Regards,
Dave

I like what you've done with the snow. Your snowman is great!
You still need icycles, and even an image map inside some of the rooms
would be better then bare walls.
You don't have to go as far as Tim Taylor (Toolman) might for decorations,
but you certainly need more lights, though I assume you just got started
with that...
Nice progress! Keep it up. :)

Very nice work.
But I know that if **I** tried to get an image like this from my PC onto paper,
it would look like one big brown smudge, even if I took it to the professional
T-shirt shop.....

Any ideas on stars, I could try playing around with a large hollow sphere
with a noised-pigment, I tried the Galaxy plugin for Moray, but got lots of
fancy Star-Trek stuff that I couldn't get rid off - I got a galaxy rather
than a night sky (suprisingly), but hoped to twist it. HF's for the upper
snow was an idea, but I think is a little beyond me, I would have to angle
the snow and set it up to work throughout the scene (the roof is at varying
degrees throughout), thinking on it though I could stretch and repeat if
necessary <thinking>. OK maybe that is a good idea, thanks

I've moved the snowman, thinking on adding area lights (depending on render
times), how would you suggest simulating moon-light?

Thanks
