I just created a trombone model in sPatch, and I thought I'd share it with
the rest of you. The source is in p.b.scene-files.

Do you play trombone ? It's very hard. I tried once, and obtained
nothing but horrible sounds...

Fabien.

Well yes, I do. If you want you can check out www.blecket.org, that's the
band I'm playing in.

Not very... Not if you compare to trumpets and clarinets and stuff anyway.
It's just one slide to keep track of, and not a bunch of valves and things.

I imagine it's the amberture that's hard. I play clarinet. You blow
and it makes sound, it's pretty easy. (Double-reed instruments are
another matter.) Lots of keys are good too. They keep you from having
to move quickly between notes or do awkward slides, because there's
(usually) a key nearby for the next note. And a key or valve you just
press, unlike a trombone or violin where you have to find the right
spot. (String players usually can't, that's why they do a tremolo.)

Having struggled with it for some months, I must disagree. It's easy
only after you get used to it. Which holds true for every instrument
:)

The mouthpiece alone makes the best instrument for torturing a cat
that I've ever seen (or heard) :))

Pull the corners of your lips back and say eeeeee. Do something a
little similar into the clarinet. :) Well, you have to build those
muscles a little and it gets less tiring.
