This is something i have been working on these days, things turned out to
be very slow again...

The first picture is an early version without photons, but it looks quite
good IMO. It also took 'only' 16 hours.

The second one was the slowest, 4 hours for the photons (although they are
not much visible), 36 hours in total.

The third one is somehow a combination of the first two, quality settings
for both photons and radiosity were quite low, therefore the upper part
looks quite bad. It took 24 hours to render.

What's still missing is different coloring of the stones near and under
water. The versions with photons only have reflective photons, turning
refraction on leads to a visible line here water changes from with to
without photons.

Comments and suggestions welcome as always.

Christoph

that is very nice. I'd love to see it animated!
:o)

Some of the best water I've seen in awhile.

Hi

Looks very nice, although the bricks could use a little dirtying up at the
water line. I was once trying something very similar yet I went for the cave
option, shame I lost the file.

To me it's hard to say which image is the best. They are all great!.

I think i'll keep with the last one because of the stones under the
water. However I prefer the water of the first picture and I think you
should keep the row of bricks at the top of the tunnel (2nd image). I
can see you're making some tests with the stone normal. I think the
normal of the second image is better (surely it takes more time to render).

About the color for the stones, at first I thought about green, but I'm
not sure this will do any good for the image. Some white spots
representing salt accumulation could be added but this doesn't solve
your question.

Alberto.

Hmm, I like the first best... the second one's too grainy. Maybe smooth the
bricks back a little and keep the photons.

These are awesome!

BTW, RMF water would be quite difficult to animate anyway...

I know, will work on that...

I thought about adding some rocky stuff outside.
