A little something to show I still exist...
Actually just an updated version of an old scene. Takes a godawful long time to
render as is, some more tweaking is needed before I can go for a full-size
render. Unfortunately I am somewhat pressed for time these days.
I'm reasonably happy with the ground, but not so sure about the sky (especially
the cumuli). Comments, suggestions?

Very nice :)

Somethings not quite right in terms of 'realism'. The light is coming from
behind the viewer, so why is there cyan light on the horizon? It looks as if
there is something glowing cyan beyond the horizon, in which case it should
reflect on the clouds.

How did you do the soil? I like it.

Actually, I think I like the old one better. ^^;

Well, it's basically supposed to be fog, so reflecting the light. I think the
colour of it looks good (if not particularly realistic under the conditions),
but it is probablu too bright.

The ground is an isosurface (noise3d for the rolling hill, ridgedMF for the wavy
ridges, granite pattern for the gravel/sand). The stones are also isosurfaces
(spherical displaced with a granite pattern), scattered randomly across the
ground.
I can post the source for the ground if you like.

OK, what would you say is wrong with the new version? I agree that the low
altitude clouds look wrong somehow; personally I rather like the high cirrus
clouds though.

At least I would like to take a look at it :-). It's very nice.

Thanks. Posted it to p.b.s-f
Note that it requires MegaPOV (and due to what appears to be a bug in MP I've
only gotten it to render with the Windows version)
