Ugly!

Only joking. Just that I liked your focal blur version so much more.
Can't decide whether or not this is too limiting far as max_trace_level goes.
What's most puzzling to me is the inside parts of the white indentations are
seemingly surrounded by a refractive area. Something I wouldn't expect to see
unless there's a CSG object beyond that of the dots. The puzzling part being I
can't see such a thing from the facing sides.

Liked the blur a lot better. Still cool though!

Hi,

the dot is made of an intersection with a sphere to get a spherical hole.
Afterwards I placed a small
half hollow white sphere in it to simulate paint. I took a real dice as
template.

But your are right, some of the black "things" in the picture look like
MAX_TRACE problems. Maybe I
should render the picture again with a deeper level.

Rene

P.S: I am still searching for the source code :-( As posted before: long
time ago.

The big dice (die?). This picture shows the discussed problems much better.
I have never thought about
rendering it with a higher MAX_TRACE level but I will do it in the next
weeks.
