After seeing the Astronomy Picture of the Day image Earth at night (
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0011/earthlights_dmsp_big.jpg
) ... I felt I had to improve my old model of the Earth...

Imaging how I felt when I saw several other Earth images appear on this list
while I was working on it... ;-)

So just to go several better I thought I'd do as many of the planets and
moons as I could!

Those are interesting pictures, but it's not a good idea to post such a
large quantity of large png pictures here because of several reasons.
Please read the postings in
   povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions
concerning this topic.

You should better think of putting them on a web site and post a link
instead. Furthermore the main purpose of this group is discussing
renderings and therefore it would have been nice if you would have written
something about the techniques used and about the source for the image
maps.

Anyway welcome to these groups, please don't feel offended by this answer,
it's just my personal opinion BTW.

Christoph

They are all too dark. Or are they exposure-adjusted? :-)
I always like to see the planets (astronomical objects), one of my favorite
interests.

I agree a few are too dark, especially the Moon. I didnt really take much
time composing these images, but just wanted to display the models.

I hope to have them all available, including source, on a website in the
near future. Feel free to come and get them then!

Rarius
