Looks good, a bit too stiff though.
If you're going to do more images like this, you might add fading to
your light, so we don't have to see that floor pattern extending to
infinity. ^^;

to edit the source and recompile each time you want to change any
parameter). I'll get back to it and make it more usable once I've
finished my irtc entry

Will this thingy be open-source, so some other clever person can improve on
it later?

The Provot papers deal with self-colision as well. If you don't have them, I
can e-mail them to you.
