The vase object looks pretty badly faceted...try using a lathe object
instead. Or at least increase the resolution of the mesh you used...

Wow that is come nice rad lighting, oops i mean "global" illumination;-) I
would love to know the setting you used to create this? Was it MegaPov's
default? Also what object is acting as the light source? Does the light source
object have ambient 1, diffuse 1? How about the ambient and diffuse settings
of rest of the objects? Sorry just that I'm not too good when it comes to
rad:-(

Impressive. I'd like to see the rad settings.
I'm assuming from the shadows from the thin pipes that you're using a
low error-bound...

I did that to a MAX using co-worker a couple of weeks ago. He merely
grimiced and said no way! He liked the feature set but the idea of
coding an image in a text editor too much of an effort to be a vaible
alternative. I shrugged and thought to myself "your loss not mine".

Yes, hand coding your scenes can be fun. In fact, that's how my first
scenes were done. But there are things you can do with a modeler that
are next to impossible with hand coding. My pod house, which I uploaded
earlier this year, is a good example. With more than 740 bezier patches,
I don't think anyone could hand coade that.

Ron Parker could hand coade that but he's a freak of nature :)

Hmm... I remember the first time I saw a real modeller after I had
used POVRay for a while...my eyes lit up and I said, "Wow, I don't
have to type in all that code to make this scene?"

i noticed that back with pov 2.2 and moray for dos, i have just made my
first real world object (a desk) and it took me 3 days with graphpaper..
decided a modeller was much more fun :)
(then proceded to make variations on the sphere / checker plane for about a
month....)
