| Actually, it uses the diffuse amount for the amount radiosity
| contributes to the lighting of the object, but still uses the ambient
| value for the amount of light from the object itself. You usually do a
| glowing object by giving it a high ambient, though you should use
| ambient 0 for non-glowing objects.
| The old radiosity used the ambient value for the amount of radiosity
| applied to the object, so ambient 0 meant that no radiosity would be
| used for the object. This is what was changed in the new radiosity.

Thanks for clearing that up.

| Why?

Because it says to in the Doc I guess is why. I just try to follow the
instructions :-)

You only need it if you use media and want radiosity to calculate media
effects. Otherwise, it shouldn't have any effect.

If by "doesn't cast a glow" you mean that it doesn't light the rest of
your scene, you should either use a higher ambient or increase the
radiosity brightness (higher ambient is the more realistic solution). If
you mean that you want a glow effect around your screen, then media is
the way to go (either scattering and media on though I don't know if it
works and in any case it'll be very slow or emitting).

Hmm, where is the 12" subwoofers, the rear speakers, the side arrays and
stuff. I bet it's not even THX rated... sheesh. If you can't do it
properly, don't do it at all. :-)

Nah, just kidding! Great idea for an idea, and the image isn't too bad
either.

WARNING!!! Ray tracing home theaters can become an obsession. Here's my
real home theater, which I never finished (but I came real close).
