Hello, all.

Further to the previous posts, here's a 'teaser' of my (still!) incomplete
CSG robot. Sorry it's taking so long to complete, but figuring out things
like 'working' joints for the legs is a bit of a pain. The fella's fully
poseable now, and all I really need to do is finish the legs and put the
power cables in.

Hopefully (pah!) I should have him finished, ooo, before Christmas. Not
saying which year though...

Bye,
Alan.

PS - If Ryan's reading this, how's R2 coming along?

ryan here. glad you asked alan. i should be able to finish tonight if
i don't do the third leg. i must say it has been difficult finding
pictures that show every detail well enough. i had to make a few
educated guesses, but they shouldn't be far off, if at all. i've done a
render at every major stage, the last of which used xplo's radiosity
settings thrown in with some of my own. it's looking good. once the
model is finished, i'm going to try and tweak the textures a bit more.
fyi, every time they had the chance, they cleaned r2d2. so for this
first version, he's going to be clean. for a final render, i'm probably
going to put him in a scene constructed by someone else to see how he
looks in an environment. until now, he's been alone on a checkered
floor with a grey background. your model is looking good. can't wait
to see the final. maybe your robot and mine can be friends. :)
