They have been walking in the circle for a long time and have lost
weight... They are also somewhat less shiny now.

;)

    Hi Micha,
as I'm a novice Pover, I appreciate that you have done a
great job here. I see that you may have added a brownish tinge to the
heads. I think that the ants may look better if this was all over the body,
rather than black. The 'Black Ants' that reside in the UK, are in fact dark
brown, with a kind of 'banding' across the abdomen. We also have some nasty
looking Red Ants! You can almost see through them. These will bite you. ;o)

      Nice Image!

   ~Steve~

Not bad, but I think I agree with someone who said they might want to stand
a little higher on their legs.

right. leg lengths are probably okay, they just need to stand taller
and not crouch. black ants in california are indeed all black. very
small too. nice improvements.

Take a look at the attached image. It shows what I consider a
reasonably proportioned and posed ant should look like.

Like people no two ants (esp species) are exactly alike
these are v. realisticly proportioned ants (at least to me) esp. the one on th
front left.

Was using a skin-like texture intentional? The ants look really good now, I
see they vary in head and leg positions too. Took a while for me to notice
that.
