Yes, it looks more like fungus than like droplets. I did some
experiments with your code (replacing the spheres by blobs, changing the
pattern and textures etc. ) and though it may not be useful for water,
it makes nice gooey blood and other interesting shapes.

Thanx ... but what does "fungus" mean ???
Of course you have read that it's been a quick workaround to
avoid some heavy simulation calculations ...
Can I expect to see some of the pics with blobs ???

Mushrooms, toadstools, mould, rust infections on plants, dry rot and

Fungus is the generic term for plants likes mushrooms, though in this
case it should refer particularly to the mould species. Actually, it
could make very realistic contents for Petri dishes too. People making a
picture for the IRTC "Laboratory" round could be interested.
