Hi. This is the right half of a scene I am trying to finish. I'm looking for
some comments on the textures. If everything goes as planned, there will be
some strange fish on the dock, a canoe type boat, and some other stuff. The
fish might be hard to texture in a realistic way (for me atleast).
Thanks for lookin'

The water looks very realistic. Did you use something like a bozo
teaxture? Looks like ther are several colors in it. The rock texture
looks a lot like some of the rock textures that come out of 3D studio.
The only thing I see that looks a little odd is that the boards on the
dock don't seem to have enough support under them.

Cool thing. The metal parts are too mirror-like imo though. Love the wood
boards. The water reminds me of springs in Florida. The stone supports
could use a layered texture in the water for algae growth.
Nice image so far.

Interesting stuff.
For your canoe use blobs, I've been playing around with negative components
over the last few days and have been getting some really good results.
Fish texture - plenty of irid in the finish and a colour map from a pearly
white to a darkslate grey might do the trick.
Look forward to seeing the finished product.

For the canoe, I really wanted to try to make it out of sticks. like they
were all tarred and tied together. Something primitive looking. But good
luck to me in making a canoe out of 10,000 sticks!

This looks very realistic...kind of like something you would expect in a
Myst/Riven type game.

Looks good so far. I'm also curious, what normal type and values did you
use?
