Metal textures with a black background. I tried adding an ambient
backgound but it washed out the texures too much so I left it out.

Thanks.

I didn't check but I doubt it was much over a couple of hours at
640x480. I started the render and went to bed.

Actually it is jpeg friendly because of all the different color zones
in the image, at least I didn't notice any degredation between the
original and the compressed version.

Sure! But don't email it... Post it at ptsf, so others can enjoy it too
:-)

(BTW: can you change the links on povray.org for
www.crosswinds.net/~povplace to www.povplace.be.tf , cause it's probable
that I'm going to move my site (crosswinds is way too slow), but
www.povplace.be.tf will keep working. Tnx)

Very nice. The sort of nicknack you'd find on the average
desk, but nobody'd get round to modelling it.

It shall be done but it will be in povray.binaries.scene-files instead.

Sometimes "Because" is the best reason of all. One question: Where is
the light source?
