This is my first post to this group in about a year. Have barely had time
to lurk, let alone ray-trace.
I have worked on this model for about 4 days now when I am not at work. I
thought I would share it and try to get some feedback.
I am not happy with the texturing at all, and haven't even tried on most of
the ship. The model isn't done yet either, I have a couple of catapaults
and a ballista to add, I also have to finish the rear window, and I would
like to add a little scene in the front window.
Anyway, here it is....
(BTW, it is all done with CSG)

Very original! Ithink there's something odd about the vertical component of
the main mast - it seems out of place and too thick , perhaps just the
diagonal mast and sail(fin like) is all that is needed.
Great work, look forward to the finished piece.

Very nice.
Reminds me of an old 'Woody'.
'Cept this puppy floats.

Nice!
But...
I would decrease the ambientlevel of the metal parts.
Except for the metal, I like the textures.

Very nice modelling. If it looks this good now, can't wait to see
the finished article.
Strange design, is it a replica of an actual ship or is it all your
own idea?

Cool design, love to see it in a scene.

Thanks, I wanted to give the metal
parts of the "head" a "scale-like" normal,
but I think it would look like crap.

Actually, I read a book that had people flying around in space aboard boats
that look like
fish and insects. One of them looked like a
hammerhead shark, and from the information
I gleaned from the text, I modeled this one.
If you zoom out alot and look straight down on
it, it looks just like one.

I want to put it in a "stormy-sea" scene with rain
and swells. The ship hovering above the water.
But.... Media and water are skills that take a long
time to learn....
