i like what i see, but it's hard to see...
on some web page i visit often (i don't remember which) they are of the
opinion that a model on a white background best shows off the quality of
the model; and i tend to agree. for model showcases this seems best.
for scenes of course, the details of a model aren't always needed. so
if it isn't too much trouble, the next time you render?....

On a white background this time, I'm out of ideas.

Very cool... just one suggestion, the colouring is so dark that maybe some
tiny coloured LED lights set into the surface set to ambient 1 would provide
a nice contrast. just an idea.

Lights. Good idea.
Thanks for the color changes :-) Ben, do things for yourself as much or more
than for others though.
When ideas run out, my advice is to move on to bigger and better things or
you'll start to place that craft onto a planet in a crash-landing scene and
start creating rust textures for it and... oops.

Now, layer a weathering texture uniformly across that excellent model :)
I preferred the black ;)

no way. the white shows off the model better. he can put it in a real
scene later, in space or whatever.
