| Yeah, I'm not exactly sure why that's happening. When I do a test
| render with point lights rather than area_lights, they illuminate the
| walls better.
Possibly self shadowing of the light fixture, but most likely is that because
each point in the array is reduced in brightness in order to remain at the
original point source intensity. Why that would actually dim the local area
more might have something to do with what can be seen by using multiple point
lights and using a sum total of greater than 1 to achieve the same brightness
as a single rgb 1 light source.
Just speculation, of course.

AFAIR, a cartouche is a collection of glyphs, somewhat analogous to a
signature.
And I think the movie called them 'symbols', but the resident smartarse
egyptologist had to decode a tablet with cartouches engraved onto it.
It's also been a while since I saw the movie, so take anything I say with
a reasonably large pinch of NaCl. :)
Bye for now,
Jamie

isn't that printer the new big brother to the relatively new 970? i
think the only difference is paper size. i think yours prints like 11
by 17 or something? i have the 970, and i must say this batch of new
printers from hp is impressive, isn't it?

This is excelent. Some really good texturing and some nice
nondescript objects that make it look so real. Thanks for
sharing.

It surely is! I amaze everybody in my vicinity with the beautiful pictures
it prints. Now I *must* render something worthwhile myself, oh oh!

I love this scene. I'm impressed with the realism you achieved in this scene.
Alberto.
