Hi,
thanks for your nice comments on the first version of this one! I changed
the size and colour of the HF, the guard stands on (no, Bob, no wall :-))
and "rooted" the tree a little bit. Perhaps I'll give you your "15 minutes
later shot" a little bit later, Peter. For the time being the clock remains
on t minus 15 minutes :-).
Comments, suggestions etc. greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
Marc-Hendrik

I like it!
The tree branches and leaves give the pic a nice frame. Only thing that
bothers me is the slight banding of the sky, and the jpeg compression that
is a bit too high. I was just wondering about the shadows on the ground,
would they really be that visible when there hardly is any light at all, and
certainly not from above. Other than that, great pic!

Thanks!
yes those shadows ... don't know where they are from. Perhaps the light is
reflected from the sky_sphere. The only light_source is some 450 units under
the HF. But I like it somehow - it gives the illusion of bright stars in the
west :-).

looks yet better, the line in the sky makes it look like he is standing
at the coast looking on the foggy sea... :-)
together with the shadows on the ground it looks more like a full moon
night.
You could probably avoid the horizontal structure in the sky using a
normal sphere instead of sky_sphere and translating it a bit downwards.

Hm ... there are many thinks to learn. Coordinates system f.e. - it's 3000
Units OVER the HF and 450 behind the guard. Ts, ... reflections of a
sky_sphere ... and outlook express does not allow me to cancel my message
... :-/ (how do you make a bashful emoticon?).

I thought he was facing front till now.( Maybe give him a stronger angle
showing the arc of his rt. arm in better perspective...? )
The rolling hill helps allot ...=)
Very nice...

The pigment statement can be scaled and translated even though in a
'sky_sphere'.

OE does have a Message/Cancel Message in the main menu (not message window
menu). I've used it and seen it confirm the cancellation and not seen the
confirmation. Related in part to the newsgroup server I think is why. But
that's only a guess. It has seemed to work within minutes other times days or
not at all, so not easy to be sure.
For the emoticon maybe tongue-tied :-& or confused (mixed-up) :~/ would
suffice.

Great change. I just realized the sky is so dark that a star (or planet) or
three would go nicely, doesn't seem like a cloudy sky anyhow. Although that
fog or haze might be preventing anything from showing up.

I know the 'Cancel message' button in my right-button pop -up and in the
main menu, but it seems to be always grey - oh wait, it is only on the
povray news server. Don't know why, perhaps it's because of my dynamic
IP-Address or my ISP (no problems to cancel messages on his server). So I'll
have to live with all the garbage I send out to the world :~).
