This is a project I've been working on for about three days. What I have in
mind is a study room / office/ home library in a old, very rural design.
(it's hard to explain in english)

Anyway, in my mind the walls will barely show due to the furniture.

But right now I just want to see how i'm doing.

Any suggestions/comments? (specially with the fire wood???)

Very nice so far!

For the fire wood - I think it needs a better texture, which shows those
typical patterns of grey ashes on the wood (perhaps crackles?). In addition
to that work an the edges, which burn away at the very beginning.

The fire itself looks good but not very realistic. With this intensity of
light I would expect higher flames. Perhaps reduce it to just a glow (?).

The walls seem to be too clean/new, but if they won't show up that doesn't
matter of course.

The walls look like acoustic tile or a fake rock texture. Is that the effect
you were looking for? Most stucco, mud, or other rustic walls are smoother.

The logs could use some irregular shaping instead of the perfect cylinders, as
well as some burning texture as was already suggested. Also need some
fire-brick inside the fireplace and a mantle to go over it. There's a small
angular projection seen above the opening at top left which doesn't seem to go
with the rest of the CSG there.

Thanks for the suggestions. about the csg, I noticed that, but couldn't
find any irregularities from moray. I'll look into it more carefully

Thanks

I'll try that.

I'll try anthony's suggestions on the walls.

Thanks for replying
