An idea I'm probably going to reject for the IRTC. Comments greatly
appreciated.

It's actually not that bad. Could use some work, though, like more branches,
and some volumetric lights through the branches (I love that effect). You
could probably also add some animals.

Are those vines at the top? They look to be a mess of cable < tv,
tele.phone > Some more foliage at the top might correct that appearance?

I like the fern type plants at the bottom how are they created?

Although it still needs work, I like certain parts of this scene a lot. My
impression is that there is a low cloud level, and some fog as well. Reminds
me of my last vacation, when I saw weather just like that up in some
mountains. A couple suggestions: the bends in the tree trunks are too
angular, and those vine things seem out of place. The ferns are really good,
try putting a couple more branches in, as the single branches look odd by
themselves. How about a little waterfall in the stream, or a couple rocks
creating turbulance in the water's flow?

Regards,
Dave

Yep, vines. Foliage would be a definate improvement although I'm uncertain
how to add it realistically.

CSGed spheres and while loops. I turned it into a macro which adds some
versatility.

Hey Chris. I like the fog/media effect; very moody. It seems a little too
dark at the bottom of the image, but that could be a gamma issue. The
joints in the trees are a little too stiff too.

I like the ferns and the moss-covered rocks, but you should know that
H.E.Day's comment "when in doubt, add more wires" doesn't really apply
to a wilderness setting. ;)

Put a few more wires/vines/strands in, add a spider or two and you'd have
a good start on Bilbo battling the giant spiders in Mirkwood.
