These guys are real evil looking. Probably not what you want to hear
but it's very "lord of the rings" esque.

Why just three?

Didn't I say

"I would like to see him placed 200 times in rows and columns on a
height-field with a bright sky and smooth hills..." ??

So where are they ? ;-} <g>

brain: Karl!

Karl: Yes...?

brain: Be serious now!

Karl: OK brain.

I think that these (imho) detailed modeled guys don't fit in this scene
with its unnatural colors, lighting and blocky HF.
According to the movie I would prefer a brigt sky with media clouds or
layered clouds.

Karl

I want to rent the movie on DVD and cut some still pictures on the iMacs
at school (as soon as they are working correctly) to get the specifics
correct... Till then this is just a test... The reason there are three was
inspired by the conceptual painting i saw on the " star wars " web site...

I like the unnatural sky... I may add some blues in place of the black but
i like the other worldly look... The final w/ the ranks will have a more
earth like sky (probably media =) and rolling green hills...
I will work on the HF...
It does look rather poor in quality :(..

Can you post it at a larger size, like 800x600 orsomething like that? I
really like it, but I would love to see it more detailed!

From what I've heard, Lucas has decided not to put the film out on dvd for
now. You may have to live with the limits of tape.

Any ideas on how to get VHS to digital media i.e. zip disk for printing some
stills of the battle scene...??? Something to that effect...???

Video capture card :-)
Anything less would be bad, such as trying to do photographs of the TV screen
and scan them in later or transfer if using a digital camera. Anyway, just
plain bad idea.
The thing is about such stuff, I mean heck, you can get a whole video card
with video-in for the price of a capture-only type card or device.
Have a look at this for instance: http://www.videoguys.com/vidcap.htm
And then this: http://www7.tomshardware.com/video/99q4/991118/video-in-27.html
