Not much of a preview, since I've already submitted it, but a preview
none the less. Too late for me to make any changes :)

All textures (except, of course, for the graffiti) are procedural, as
are all the heightfields.

This is a building I found in Halifax, and thought to be the perfect
representation of the city. Also included is the photo I used as a
reference.

What do you think?

Simon

Looks great! How soon can I move in?

The water stains below the metal vents add a nice level of detail.

I went straight to the images before reading your text. You scared the
bajezus outta me, when I saw the second image. I thought for sure you would
win. Then it hit me that the bottom one was a photograph. That calmed me
down. The top one looks nice, nonetheless. I would have dirtied up the
bricks a bit more, but in general, it looks swell. Good job. And good luck
(with HE Day participating, it kinda defeats the purpose of participating,
but you can always shoot for second place).

HE Day is the only one worrying you ? What about Gilles Tran and Nathan
O'Brien ?

They're in the next one too? This round will certainly be a clash of titans!

Compared to the photo it is a little lacking in detail, but the mood and the
texturing are great.

Metal vents, eh?

I was wondering what those things are. I just render what I see, I don't
try to understand it.

We're not worthy... we're not worthy.

I showed the 2 pics to my wife and asked her to guess which one was the
photo. She guessed wrong.

Well ya know, funny thing is the 2nd one (the photo) really looks like an
exceptional raytrace.

The building in the forefront, as well as the ground, doesn't look 'real' to
me, and neither does the building in the upper left (tho a bit more
realistic looking).

It's the power line / telephone post and building behind that (and drab sky
we are all familiar with) that look most real in the image; though I
wouldn't have a hard time believing the photo to be raytraced if someone
just sent it to me and said "look at this neat raytrace".
