"How about some alien playing a guitar?" (Mind you, a lute is different from
a guitar, but it's the same concept).

Cool, these guys could do sign language, but counting/telling the time and
anything that involves numbers or spelling anything that requires the
letter "O" would be a problem so you can't call him Oscar or John or even
Pov. I'm assuming here that it's the ring finger thats missing rather than
the little finger.

I though it was something like that.

But no, I don't think I'll make that.

I'll have to complete the alien first anyway.

Rune

Well, I guess so, but they're only supposed to be parts of a whole alien
character.

It's not like I want to focus on the hands or anything, I just didn't want
to be limited when posing them.

I'll go on working on the rest of the character now...

Greetings,

Rune

I don't think they'd have any problem counting. It would just have to
be in octal. Not that there is any problem in counting in octal, mind
you.

Although you could work on a piano first, and not show the whole alien.

I don't think he meant that they could not count because of the missing
finger.
I think he meant that they would have problems forming the signs for numbers
in ASL because of the missing digits :)

Especially flexible in the number of fingers, I guess ;-)

I think that both in BSL (which I know) and in ASL they only use one hand
for numbers. They could count to three then they'd have to skip the next
two and go straight to six and on to nine without problems, then 10 would
look like an unenthusiastic/falling asleep 44.
