I could see some alien-techno-gadgets made possible using that sort of thing.

Similar to my first thought. I pictured it representing the "guts on the
outside" technique used on the ships in the original "Star Wars" trilogy.

You just had to go and give it a silvery texture with blue lighting,
didn't you? This screams "cheap sci fi"...
Interesting combination if I do say so myself..

After seeing the pic and reading how you did it, I tried it
myself, and it didn't look anywhere near what you did. Could
you post the code for brain impaired?

The code right now is in two .pov files, and extremely messy. I will try
to clean it up and post it
in text.scene-files, hopefully in a couple of days.

I like it :) Musta been a long render, for when I tried the maze as an
isosurface, it was a long render.

Rendering the maze as an isosurface function did take a long time....don't
remember the exact time, but
it was about an hour and a half on my pentium-120. Using a bitmap for the
maze was faster, and seemed
to produce cleaner looking edges.
