Hmm, all my mp3s are in the Artist - Song format, and I have bought 3 CDs recently
entirely based on mp3s, two I had never even heard of before.

Mine, too, but these three are not and they're driving me nuts because
I can't search the net based on two letters only. I might ask at the
Usenet but aside from c.g.r.r. I've never gotten a useful response to
my posts there.

Nope. US.
Last book I had to read for English: "The Color of Water", paperback, normal size, on
the
spine: $14.99 US

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!

Man, did they see you coming.

List price $6.99
On-line price: $5.59

To be fair, perhaps your local stores just don't have a good selection. Thus the
reason for
Amazon, bn.com and others like that. The large paperback has a list price of $12.00.

I'm lucky here. When I do bother reading the libraries in this area have a decent
collection. Also, there are many good used book stores all over the place.

Sorry, my mistake. It was a couple bucks less. $12.99. But it was a relatively small
book. I
could easily see another going $15. Anyway, it was the school's book, so it's not like
I give
a rat's ass. Didn't care much for it, don't care much for Cry the Beloved Country.
Here's an idea: let's read a book that doesn't use a racially segregated historical
context
to preach social values.

On the cover is says:

			Australia $24.95
                        Not for sale in Canada

I think is just one of those cases of life immitating ray-tracing.
A post from Bill over in p.o-t said something about not being valid
in Canada or Wisconsen.

Well it's good to know that we Canadians aren't the only ones getting
ripped off so badly...

I think you'll have to wait a generation or two before you see such a
book. Any pervasive social change takes at least one generation to
effect itself and it's only been about one generation since we were
forcefully made aware of the racial inequities we live by(60s race
riots), and awareness is only the first short step...
It's kind of funny in a way: Two thousand years ago, the Romans didn't
have such problems... Progress? What Progress?
