Wow I really like this one! The edge bewteen the rock and the "other
side" seems a little too sharp to me. Just my 2 cents.

This is 100 percent better than the other one and the other was okay I thought.
Those grass blades sure are introducing a lot of granularity but I think it
doesn't hurt much.
Great fantasy art.

So, I take it you've seen enough portals in person to be able to
accurately judge this scene's realism?

Anyway, I like this image also. The sharpness of the portal itself
tends to draw your attention to that part of the image. Even the
pattern of the clouds above seems to radiate outward from the portal.
It leaves the viewer wanting to approach the portal and to ponder what
it might be like to touch or enter into it - just as portals tend to
do in real life...

Having just looked at it for the second time (first time was bleary eyed
early this morning!) I can see it still needs some more work on the grass,
flowers and bottom right hand corner!

Oh well...get on with it!

Great image! Especially the grass and the flower-things...the footpath 
to the portal was also done well.
Only one thing...the portal appears to open into empty space. Shouldn't 
the atmosphere be rushing through the portal, creating a small tornado 
and sucking everything in the area along with it? Or does the physics of 
the portal prevent that?(a gravitational field surrounding the other 
"end" of the portal, strong enough to hold a spherical cloud of 
atmosphere with enough pressure to keep the air from passing through?)
Or am I just over-analyzing?

The rather abrupt color change makes the portal really jump out at you.
I was thinking something didn't look quite right; now I figured it out:
the "other side" seems to lack depth for some reason. Maybe rotate the
galaxy a little if you can so it is not perpindicular to the camera.
