This reminds me a lot of a fractal image done in POV by
Peter Popov a long time ago, (remember the one on the pedastal).

Err, Steve, I don't recall making one with a pedestal :) There was a
"glass fractal on a checkered fractal floor" thingie but pedestals,
no. Glad someone remembers them, though.

There is a song by Metallica with this name. This picture, with the
red & spikes & the brooding gloom seems to go well with it :) What
does the title mean and what is its history (I think it comes from the
Bible but I am not sure, not having read it in English yet).

The Metallica song served as inspiration for the title (I had, in fact,
been listening to a lot of Metallica at the time), but I used it mainly
because the spiky object reminded me of a giant caltrop.. surely
something that NO ONE would want to tread on. :)

I'm afraid I can't enlighten you as to the origin of the phrase, though.

Caution, US History
The once popular Revolutionary slogan "Don't Tread On Me" - memorialized
on the Culpepper and First Navy Jack flags prior to the deliberations of
the First Continental Congress in 1777 - .... deals with sovereign
immunity.

Symbolized by the picture of a snake, ergo don't tred on me or you might
get bit.

I've been on the server having a look, but can't find it, it was
ages ago, can't find it on my HD either. The one I'm thinking
of might have been from Spinder.

Not there.

It was a pointy grey/silvery/black fractal with a little name tag on
it, IIRC there was some red in the background.
