I was playing with ridged multifractals today and here is one of the
results. Any questions or comments?

YES! Finally someone who achieved the mf-results that I wanted! Maybe you
could inform me about the parameters and how to adjust them? I couldn't
figure it out from the docs. I understand what the different params _mean_
but not how to set them, if you know what I mean...

There seems to be som kind of disconinuity in the middle; which of course is
a feature in the mf, but maybe in this example it would be cool to fill it
with water or some lava? Just suggesting, of course...

What was the render time on this?

Simen.

Surperbly realistic - nature really is one giant mess of math...

Did you come up with the name yourself or did you get it from arrakis.es? I
wish I knew how to do what you did with mf. All I get is stuff that looks
like sea water. :P

The name I believe comes from the book or more widely known the movie with
sting playing one of the bad guys... ( Quote:<english accent> I will kill
you!!!)
"Dune": A desert planet where a sort of spiritual spice is mined in the sands
filled w/ deadly, huge, sand worms...

Arrakis had virtually none, or very few rock structures... Looks good for
mars though it is not as an appealing name...
btw... Where are the sand worms... And the lightning in the ground that
proceeds them...?

Great image, but I must have missed something. What are these ridged
multifractals and how can I get one to play with? Will my Wife get mad at me
if I play with it too much?

Never heard of it. BTW, who or what is "sting"?
