That is one serious spotlight. I would alter the position of thelight
source on the headlights.... the light is coming out of a point on the
headlight instead ofthe entire surface of the light. Other than that,
good job!

Yes, i know the problem of the headlights, but did not want to wait another
2 or 3 hours. And i was realy happy that media has worked. I have rendered
some images (in lower resolution) that realy diapointed. The picture was
black, or it was totaly white. Spotlights with a falloff-value look very
disapointing, has anyone suggestions how to put a falloff-spotlight in media
without disapointing "pixels" at the border?

Hartmut

PS : For a person not talking english all the day, the names of the
media-parameters are hard to understand, and the documentation says not
enough. I will try to buy a dictionary to fully understand what every
parameter means ...

A good effort, but the second image I've seen today where the
media is too bright. If we assume that the medial is at
colour rgb 1, truning it down to something like 0.7 or 0.6
I think would bring a big improvement to the image.

Keep up the good work.

What about the parameters of media that i have not used (confidence, rate,
variation)?

... (?)) and a jitter of 1.

Media seems to be a pov-function where trial (and long waiting) is the only
way to get results for new users of this command ...

They don't make much sense even if you do speak English as your native
language :)

I think a less sharp edge on the spotlight beams would be better. The red tail
light looks okay but the white ones are very solid. Might try to use a
'tightness 50' instead.

You have found it out :-)
---insert---
Well, it's obvious I can't get povray syntax right when replying here instead of
using it in POV. Sorry about my other reply here if anyone saw it. Mistaken
stuff said. I never use those keywords: confidence, variance, ratio (not
"rate". Well, I have used that one but it never seems to make a difference) in
media which is why i didn't think they belonged in a media statement. Once a
newbie always a newbie ;-)
---insert---
I just realized the megapov.html file says there is a "new keyword --
sample_method" but then goes on to say only "method", so I suppose that is in
error.
Be careful if you ever use media method 2 instead of 3, the samples will need to
have the same minimum and maximum values to get a smooth media from what I've
seen of it. Also the type 3 (you apparently used 2 though) for murky media
tends to thicken it up quite a bit.
But you're right, trial and error because every scene can be so different.

Bob
