Hey, don't forget me! I am also 17. :-)
I don't do much "art" though, mostly I play around with adding features
to POV-Ray and writing simulations.

Incredible image...

Well, as a fellow 17-year-old high school student, this will be my first and
last post to this thread since for now on I am now going to have to hang my
head in shame for the rest of my life. I've been working with POV for
almost a year and I can't begin to fathom how you constructed such a
magnificent model...and with blobs! If you say you hand-coded the entire
file I'm going to have to shoot myself;)
I wonder what breed of images you could make with a professional package
like 3DS or Lightwave?
Keep up the good work,
-Chris-

I think that he has shown that it doesn't take a
"professional package" to do "professional work".
It is not the package, it's the person. Good
training helps, patience help, understanding helps.
I could have all that and a bag of chips and not be
as good as this.

I hand-coded it. (Baoom!!!)
Really. I'll post the code soon, so you can see. By the way I've been working
with Pov since version 2.

Quite right. I personally believe that Pov-Ray (in the MegaPatch form) is better
than most modeling/animation packages. Most of the stuff I see done with
Truespace, LW or 3DS is crap. There are many exceptions, http://www.raph.com/
being a good place to start.

And do a good job at that. By the way, how's the patina pattern coming
along, and could you use a method 2 type of sampling??

Nope, no transparency, just coincidence. Isosurface can be strange animals.

No, that's the cloud colors. The coloring looks fine to me. Maybe it's my
monitor.
