I"m John and I'm very new to this whole POV thing. Here is a little
thing I did. Please be merciful with your criticisms.

It is kinda like one image I made back then, when I was a newbie. (I
concider myself a newbie yet, but you know what I mean.)
I like simple things. And the golden texture (on the 'belt') looks good,
even though it's simple.
Keep it up!
5k.

Hi, I too made something like this when I first started. The most important
step to take, is to start creating your own textures. But this is a good
start, keep it up.

It's the ugliest thing I ever saw! Just kidding. :-)
Is that your own texture on the wall there?

Welcome to the group. This is certainly better than my first post.
Getting good with POV isn't that difficult... just ignore your friends and
family, quit your job, forget about personal hygiene and hide in the
basement with your computer 24/7. It helps if you can find a liquor store
that delivers.

I don't knwo anyone who didn't start out with spheres on checkered planes.
It's a must. It's the "Hello World" of POV-Ray. And yours is very well done.
Play with some normals, you'll love it.
Welcome to the group. Stick around.

I started POV with sphere on a plane, but I was programming for years before I
wrote a "Hello World" (trying to learn assembly for the TI-89) I haven't
programmed anything in a while, though, so I forgot a lot of my C. Never learned
C++, and assembly is completely different on the 86 and 89.

I understand "Hello World" for programers, but do office
product junkies write Hello world to test new pens?
